I am a 1985 graduate of The University of Michigan Law School and over the past 23 years, as a real estate attorney, I have also developed a legal practice with a specialty in commercial and residential real estate.
Over the past two decades, I have had the opportunity to provide representation to a broad base of clients involved in residential, multi-family and commercial real estate transactions, including a variety of acquisitions and dispositions of office buildings, shopping centers, multi-family residential properties, and hotels. Through these efforts I have gained experience in the drafting and negotiation of a broad range of agreements relating to residential and commercial real estate including sophisticated and complex purchase and sale agreements, conventional and non-conventional financing agreements, property management agreements, brokerage and leasing agreements, leaseback and like-kind exchange agreements.
My legal experience began first with two of the largest law firms in the country, and thereafter, in my own private practice. My experience includes a broad range of real estate and commercial lending matters.
Through my representation of individual sellers and purchasers, real estate developers, lenders, investment banks and individual investors, I gained invaluable experience working on the purchase, sale, construction, financing and operation of commercial, residential and retail projects throughout the United States. In addition, I have experience representing clients in residential and commercial leasing transactions, real estate secured lending transactions, land use matters; and debt restructurings.
Throughout my 23 year legal career, I have practiced in specialized areas of real estate, corporate and banking transactional law.
