September 17, 2008: In the Ann Arbor Business Review's September 17th special edition
"The
Business of Green-Michigan's Alternative Energy Future,
Frank was quoted in article by Nathan Bomey on the environmental impact of alternative
energy:
Frank Parkinson, an environmental activist who has given
presentations on climate change and alternative energy said confusion
about various forms of alternative energy causes misconceptions among
the public. He said the "world needs to approach alternative energy
research and commercialization carefully, but quickly."
"To combat climate change and global warming and the other
problems that are associated with our dependency on fossil fuels, we
have to switch to renewable energy sources" Parkinson said. "I am sure
that all renewable energy technologies are not appropriate for all
applications, but that is true of conventional energy production as
well."
